Web 2.0 tutorials
Professional development August 22nd, 2007I am in the process of creating a Web 2.0 wiki for my staff. I want to introduce them to some of the powerful, new tools of the Internet, including blogs, RSS, wikis and social bookmarks. I’m amassing some resources to link to my wiki so teachers can benefit from what other people have created in the area of Web 2.0 professional development. I’m looking for resources that are written for a “beginners” audience who has not engaged with technology much in the classroom. I want my wiki to demonstrate how easy it is to use Web 2.0 tools to transform teaching and learning.
If you have any resources that you would like to share or any relevant links, I would greatly appreciate your contributions here. When my wiki is completed I will publish the link here and share it with any interested educators. Thanks.

There are some fantastic videos introducing beginners to web 2.0 products at http://www.commoncraft.com/ – look for the series of ‘in plain english’ videos down the bottom of the page. The wiki one is excellent. They are all on yuoutube and tecahertube also, and so can be hostedcin your blog or wiki….

I am still new to Web 2.0 concepts myself. I use a lot on the Internet, but am unsure what different actual “tools” are out there. So, I would also be interested in your wiki!!
I have found this site – http://www.bubbl.us/ – and I use it often. It is a useful tool to get students using, especially middle and high school. INstead of saying they do not have Inspiration, have them use this particular site!!

Clif has a recent post called Teaching and Learning in the 2.0 Era that I found t be really useful. Perhaps you will, too.
